How do you become a B Corp?
Companies seeking to become B Corp undergo a rigorous evaluation known as the B Impact Assessment. This is conducted by the international non-profit organization B Lab. We were assessed in 5 key areas, namely: Environment, Employees, Governance, Customers and Community. Through the Impact Assessment, numerous questions are asked for each topic where we must provide well-reasoned answers to each question. If you cannot substantiate answers with facts, documents or certificates, you will not receive any points.

Employees
How do you contribute to the financial, physical, professional and social well-being of your employees.
Board
How to improve policy and execution with respect to your mission, ethics, accountability and transparency.
Customers

The process and score
Even though Dataflex had been ISO 14001 certified for years, became carbon neutral in 2019 and was well on its way with LCAs of hundreds of products, becoming a B Corp was still a challenge. The process involved completing a comprehensive assessment, scoring more than 80 points and passing rigorous audits to substantiate our claims.
Certification is not the end goal, however; it marks the beginning of an ongoing journey toward a more sustainable business.
Continuous improvement and recertification
To maintain our B Corp status, we must be recertified every three years, meeting increasingly stringent standards. Our goal is to continuously improve. We want to inspire and motivate companies, individuals and colleagues to join us on this journey.
