Patient-centric
In a healthcare environment, it’s all about the patient. Everything from a friendly, efficient layout and clear routing to plenty of daylight and greenery help ensure the Amphia hospital feels welcoming and familiar to its guests. Both the architects and Gispen’s interior designer team had to achieve this across a huge variety of spaces.
The whole picture
Dataflex ensured their parts of the project ran as one smooth process. The Dataflex Viewlite monitor arms allow you to turn the hospital’s large screens to the optimal position for patient and doctor to view a patient’s data together at a TMDoc desk shaped by Gispen specifically for such consultations. While double screens can be moved independently of each other to simultaneously give multiple viewers a perfect view of, for example, X-rays or scans.
Clutter-free
The clever Viewlite design means desktops are cable-free, screens can be rotated unrestricted and desks are therefore easy to clean. In design and in practice, Viewlite is the ideal solution for healthcare spaces. Perhaps the greatest compliment is that it works so seamlessly that the professionals who use it every day don’t even notice it’s there.

First choice
Under leadership of the technical, facilities and IT Department, various departments within the hospital were involved in the choice of Viewlite for the patient rooms.
There were various reasons for choosing Dataflex Viewlite: the large screens attach to a pole with independently movable arms. The extra bracketing at the back accommodates the thin client, leaving a clear desk that’s easy to clean (hygiene obviously being critical in a hospital). The integrated cable management, user-friendly and height-adjustable arms, and the easy installation were also amongst the Viewlite’s plus points.
And finally, the Viewlite not only integrates perfectly with the TM doc. Its minimalist design is also a perfect aesthetic fit.
Service synergy
Gispen and Dataflex have worked together over many years on a number of rewarding projects like the Amphia hospital. An extensive product range, supported by a handy configurator, makes Dataflex the ideal specialist partner when it comes ergonomic workplace accessories.
Dataflex shares Gispen’s high service standards, including flexibility and quick response, plus a real commitment to sustainability in their daily practices. All these factors taken together make Dataflex a perfect partner to work with.
As well as translating the architect’s vision into the right furniture, facilities and medical accessories, ergonomic factors were also critical. Take, for example, the patient’s rooms, which went from rooms where screens constantly impeded patient contact to a welcoming space that positively encourages that contact.
An ergonomics expert from the hospital assessed how rooms could be optimally furnished, and a key component of that was clear desktops. The Dataflex Viewlite double arm facilitates a completely empty work surface, including a stowed-away thin client, tidied-away cabling and an optimal screen view from any position.
The new hospital buildings became operational in January 2020 and have been well received by staff and public alike. Learn more about the new Amphia hospital buildings and accompanying interior design.
